The Global Tech Awards recognizes excellence in various fields of technology, including Space Technology (SpaceTech). The following are the criteria for Space Technology (SpaceTech) Awards Category:

  • Innovation and Technological Advancement: Assessment of the technology's level of innovation and technological advancements in the space industry. Consideration is given to factors such as new discoveries, breakthrough technologies, novel approaches to space exploration, and advancements in spacecraft design, propulsion systems, materials, or communication systems.

  • Mission Success and Performance: Evaluation of the technology's track record in mission success and performance. Consideration is given to factors such as successful launches, reliable operation in space, mission accomplishments, data collection, and the technology's ability to fulfill its intended objectives.

  • Safety and Reliability: Assessment of the technology's safety and reliability measures. Consideration is given to factors such as risk mitigation strategies, redundancy systems, fail-safe mechanisms, error handling, and the technology's ability to withstand harsh space environments and operational challenges.

  • Scientific and Exploration Impact: Evaluation of the technology's impact on scientific research, space exploration, or our understanding of the universe. Consideration is given to factors such as the generation of new scientific data, contribution to space missions, discoveries of new celestial objects or phenomena, or advancements in our understanding of space-related topics.

  • Spacecraft Design and Engineering: Assessment of the technology's spacecraft design and engineering aspects. Consideration is given to factors such as spacecraft architecture, structural integrity, thermal management, power systems, propulsion efficiency, communication systems, payload capacity, and the technology's ability to adapt to different mission requirements.

  • Cost Efficiency and Affordability: Evaluation of the technology's cost efficiency and affordability. Consideration is given to factors such as the technology's ability to optimize resource utilization, reduce manufacturing or operational costs, streamline processes, or offer cost-effective alternatives to existing space technologies.

  • Sustainability and Environmental Impact: Assessment of the technology's sustainability and environmental impact in space activities. Consideration is given to factors such as the use of eco-friendly or sustainable materials, adherence to space debris mitigation guidelines, minimization of pollution or contamination risks, and efforts to ensure long-term sustainability of space missions and operations.

  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Evaluation of the technology's collaboration efforts and partnerships within the space industry. Consideration is given to factors such as collaborative research initiatives, industry partnerships, knowledge sharing, contributions to international space programs, and efforts to foster collaboration and cooperation among space organizations.

  • Public Engagement and Education: Assessment of the technology's impact on public engagement and education in space-related topics. Consideration is given to factors such as public outreach initiatives, educational programs, the dissemination of scientific knowledge, and the technology's ability to inspire and engage the public in space exploration and scientific discovery.

  • Market Potential and Commercial Viability: Evaluation of the technology's market potential and commercial viability. Consideration is given to factors such as market demand, potential applications in the space industry or related sectors, commercialization opportunities, scalability, and the technology's ability to attract investment or industry partnerships.

The judges will also consider other factors such as the nominee's overall impact on the Space Technology (SpaceTech), the level of creativity and originality of the solution, and the nominee's ability to overcome technical and market challenges. All decisions of the judges are final.
