May 14 | MusicTech Winner Spotlight Music Technology 2026 Winner
At Tuned Global, we see streaming as a critical foundation of the music industry, and we continue to innovate in that space. At the same time, we are focused on expanding how music can be embedded across broader digital ecosystems such as health, gaming, telecom and real-world environments. As music evolves into these new contexts, the industry needs infrastructure that enables innovation without compromising rights, trust or economics. The Global Tech Awards provide an opportunity to highlight this shift and showcase the technologies that make these new use cases possible. Our motivation was to demonstrate how Tuned Global is helping reshape the music industry by acting as a key infrastructure layer, enabling companies to build, scale, and innovate with music responsibly at a global level.
Tuned Global submitted its Music Cloud platform; a comprehensive infrastructure designed to power music-driven products across both traditional streaming and emerging use cases. Rather than focusing on a single application, the platform connects catalogues, metadata, rights management, delivery systems, analytics, and AI-driven capabilities into a unified ecosystem. This enables businesses to move from concept to production-ready music experiences quickly, while maintaining full control over their product and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements. The innovation lies in enabling music to be deployed across a wide range of environments, from streaming services and telco super apps to healthcare applications, gaming, fitness and retail. At the same time, the platform supports advanced search, recommendation, and AI-driven discovery, helping users engage more deeply with music while unlocking new commercial models for partners.
This innovation is the result of deep collaboration across engineering, product, licensing, AI, and commercial teams, combined with strategic investment in specialized capabilities. Tuned Global has strengthened its platform through the acquisition of innovative companies such as Pacemaker and Figaro.ai, bringing advanced expertise in intelligent mixing, music intelligence, and AI-driven discovery. These capabilities are supported by dedicated AI teams, including early development in Sweden and ongoing R&D through Tuned Global Labs in the UK. Our engineering teams have built a scalable, cloud-native platform capable of supporting hundreds of millions of tracks and billions of interactions globally. In parallel, our licensing specialists work closely with major record labels such as Universal, Warner, Sony, and Believe, ensuring that every implementation aligns with industry standards and expectations. While partners still navigate licensing as part of their business, Tuned Global significantly reduces complexity by providing the infrastructure, expertise, and trusted relationships needed to streamline the process. This combination of technology, partnerships, and cross-functional collaboration allows us to deliver innovation that is both technically robust and commercially viable at global scale.
We believe our platform will expand the role of music across digital products and everyday experiences. By enabling music to be integrated into sectors such as healthcare, gaming, fitness, telecom, and streaming services, we are helping transform music from a standalone product into a core layer of digital engagement. This has both commercial and societal impact. On one hand, it unlocks new revenue models, deeper engagement, and new forms of discovery for businesses and rightsholders. On the other, it enables meaningful applications, such as using music in therapeutic environments to support mental health and patient outcomes. Importantly, this expansion is built on a foundation of transparency and rights integrity, ensuring that innovation benefits the entire music ecosystem.
One of the key challenges is the inherent complexity of music rights, licensing, and global distribution. Rather than attempting to bypass this complexity, Tuned Global has built it into the core of its platform. By combining rights management, metadata, and licensing workflows with strong relationships across major and independent record labels, we help partners navigate what is traditionally a highly fragmented and time-consuming process. Another challenge has been designing a platform that can support both traditional streaming services and entirely new use cases across industries. This was addressed through a modular, API-driven architecture that allows partners to build tailored solutions while benefiting from a unified infrastructure. Finally, ensuring that innovation remains deployable rather than experimental has been a key focus. Our R&D strategy prioritizes production-ready technologies that can operate at scale, rather than speculative features.
Innovation at Tuned Global is driven by a strong culture of experimentation, collaboration, and real-world application. A core principle across the company is “test quickly, fail quickly,” encouraging teams to explore new ideas, validate them rapidly, and iterate based on real outcomes. This mindset is supported by Tuned Global Labs, where new technologies and use cases can be tested before being scaled into production. We have also embraced AI early across the organization. Teams were encouraged to experiment with AI tools and approaches from the outset, supported by regular internal sessions where learnings, prototypes, and insights are shared across the company. This culture is complemented by ongoing investment in research and development focused on deployable innovation. As a result, our advancements in areas such as search, recommendation, AI-driven discovery, and intelligent mixing are grounded in real-world use cases and measurable impact.
Focus on solving real problems rather than building technology in isolation. In our experience, the most impactful innovation comes from enabling others to move faster and more effectively. By reducing friction across infrastructure, data, and operations, you can unlock entirely new opportunities for your partners and customers. It is also critical to build with sustainability and trust in mind. In industries like music, this means working closely with rightsholders, ensuring transparency, and aligning innovation with long-term ecosystem health. Finally, stay close to real-world use cases. The most valuable innovation is not theoretical, it is deployable, scalable, and delivers measurable outcomes.
Our goal is to become the global infrastructure powering music across both streaming services and broader digital ecosystems. We will continue to expand our capabilities in areas such as AI-driven discovery, search and recommendation, intelligent mixing, and real-time personalization. At the same time, we are investing in new listening models, including creator-led and social experiences that redefine how users engage with music. We also plan to deepen our presence across key industries such as health, gaming, telecom, aviation and automotive, helping more organizations bring music-powered products to market faster while maintaining the highest standards of rights management and transparency.
We are particularly excited about the evolution of AI in music, especially in areas such as search, recommendation, and real-time personalization. Advancements in music intelligence, tagging, and AI-driven discovery are enabling more relevant and engaging user experiences, while also supporting long-tail catalogue discovery and new opportunities for artists and rightsholders. Looking ahead, we are exploring the potential of agent-based systems and emerging frameworks such as model context protocols, which could transform how both users and partners interact with music platforms. For users, this enables more dynamic, contextual, and personalized experiences. For our clients, it simplifies how they interact with our APIs, from music ingestion and catalogue filtering to curation and delivery, reducing operational complexity and accelerating innovation.
We are also seeing strong momentum in interactive environments such as gaming and immersive platforms, where music becomes responsive to user behavior, as well as in creator-led and social listening models that shift music from passive consumption to active participation.
