What inspired you to participate in the Global Tech Awards?

Our participation in the Global Tech Awards was driven by our commitment to continuous innovation and the advancement of software solutions in the telecommunications industry. The feedback and insights from the judges have been truly invaluable. It has been an honor to be considered for this award alongside so many outstanding technologies and services.

Can you share a brief overview of the project or innovation you submitted?

Telekit is a fully customizable, no-code business phone system where business owners decide what their customers hear and how their requests are managed—whether through team representatives, self-service options, or voicemail. They're in control. They can plan ahead or make changes on the go and publish with zero interruption in service. Telekit's voice integration with Square's Appointments Calendar is a unique selling point compared to other communication service providers, making Telekit an outstanding productivity tool. By connecting Telekit with a Square account, business representatives instantly know who's calling and why. Our system automatically matches caller phone numbers with customer information in real time, so when Mrs. Johnson calls about her upcoming floor installation appointment, she is greeted by name and her information is ready, saving her from having to explain or repeat herself.

What impact do you hope your innovation will have on the tech industry or society at large?

In the last 5 years, conversational AI tools have significantly improved, however real-time personalization and excellent customer service do not have to be exclusive to large enterprises. Through smart integration of existing tools and partnerships, solutions like Telekit demonstrate how products & services can empower small businesses to provide sophisticated, personalized customer experiences without massive investments. The future lies in understanding technology and data dependencies, thoughtful implementation of user experience and a focus on delivering genuine value to both businesses and their customers.

Any advice or insights for aspiring innovators and tech professionals?

With technologies evolving rapidly, it's tempting to chase trending features that look promising but may fail to solve actual user problems when forced into products. To mitigate this risk, Telekit’s Product Lead, Swetha Viswanatha, advises, “Separate the learning process and technology monitoring from product implementation decisions. By cultivating a natural curiosity about tech developments one can effectively distinguish between genuine business/customer needs and temporary technological hype”

What are your future goals or aspirations in the tech industry, and how do you plan to contribute to advancements in your field?

Small businesses face significant challenges that often lead to failure, with approximately 20% closing within their first year and nearly 50% within five years. Understanding these common pitfalls has informed Telekit's approach to innovation. Telekit innovates in a mature industry not by overwhelming customers with every possible technology, but by making deliberate, customer-centric decisions that directly support small business owners' needs. Our future goals include simplifying technology adoption for small businesses with limited resources and creating purpose-driven data tools that transform excessive information into actionable insights. By focusing on these priorities, Telekit aims to help reduce small business failure rates by addressing the fundamental need for effective, accessible customer engagement technologies that don't require extensive resources to implement and maintain.

Are there any emerging trends or technologies that you believe will have a profound impact on the tech industry in the coming years?

Between widely used AI products like Alexa and specialized applications like IBM Watson for Oncology, recent technological advancements have delivered practical benefits including improved efficiency, fewer errors, and automation that saves time and money. However, these evolving technologies still face challenges: limited knowledge bases, inadequate training data, and the potential to generate misinformation—all requiring human verification for accuracy. Encouragingly, AI and its associated products are evolving rapidly, suggesting improved capabilities on the horizon. Telekit's Product Lead, Swetha Viswanatha, believes that the future lies in our ability to mimic human behavior in every way imaginable with minimal efforts. For example, products like Resemble AI are able to clone an individual's voice within a few minutes. We will no longer have to adapt to new technologies, the technologies will adapt to us.
